How to delete all your data — including Meta/Facebook data
Simply uninstall Marketing Pulse from your Shopify Admin. This single action permanently and automatically deletes all of your data from our systems — including your connected Meta (Facebook) Ads accounts, Google Ads accounts, tokens, campaigns, reports, and all other records — within minutes.
Step-by-Step: How to Delete Your Data
Follow these steps to permanently delete all data that Marketing Pulse holds about your store and connected advertising accounts:
- 1
Open your Shopify Admin
Log in to your Shopify Admin at
https://your-store.myshopify.com/admin. - 2
Navigate to Apps
In the left-hand sidebar, click Apps.
- 3
Find Marketing Pulse
Locate Marketing Pulse in your installed apps list.
- 4
Uninstall the app
Click the Delete or Uninstall button next to Marketing Pulse. Confirm the uninstallation when prompted by Shopify.
- 5
Deletion is automatic
That’s it. As described below, deletion of all your data begins automatically within seconds of uninstallation.
What Happens Technically When You Uninstall
When you uninstall Marketing Pulse, Shopify immediately sends a secure webhook notification (app/uninstalled) to our servers. Here is exactly what our system does upon receiving that notification:
Signature verified
We verify Shopify's HMAC-SHA256 signature to confirm the request is authentic and has not been tampered with.
CASCADE DELETE executed
A single database operation permanently and irreversibly deletes your entire shop record along with all associated data via a PostgreSQL CASCADE DELETE.
Completed within minutes
The entire deletion process completes within minutes of you clicking 'Uninstall' in your Shopify Admin.
Data permanently deleted upon uninstall
- Shop record — your shop domain, Shopify access token, subscription status, and installation date.
- Meta (Facebook) connected accounts — all Meta ad account IDs and encrypted OAuth access tokens that were used to read your Meta Ads data.
- Google Ads connected accounts — all Google ad account IDs and encrypted OAuth tokens.
- Campaign performance data — all historical ad spend, impressions, clicks, and ROAS figures synced from Meta and Google.
- Attribution data — all Shopify order-to-campaign attribution records (UTM parameters, revenue figures).
- Alert preferences — your report delivery schedule, email recipients, phone number, Slack Incoming Webhook URL, and threshold configurations.
- Notification log — history of all emails and SMS messages sent to you.
- Audit log — records of app events related to your shop (installs, account connections, billing changes).
Note: Shopify also separately sends a shop/redact webhook 48 hours after uninstallation per their GDPR requirements. Our system handles this as a second confirmation — any residual data not already deleted by the app/uninstalled handler is permanently removed at that point.
